Jamie Roberts admits he faces a "very tough choice" over his future after being linked with a big-money move to France.

The Wales centre is in the final year of his contract with Cardiff and is yet to decide whether he will remain with the RaboDirect PRO12 club beyond the current campaign.

"It is a tough decision I have to make, but one that whatever decision I make it will be the right one because it is what I want to do."

The British and Irish Lion has been with the Blues since 2007 but his form for club and country has made him a target for those with money to spend in the Top 14.

Roberts' international team-mate Dan Lydiate is also rumoured to be a target for French sides, while the likes of James Hook, Gethin Jenkins and Mike Phillips are already plying their trade across the English Channel.

"It is a very tough choice I have got to make, and one I haven't made yet. It's a tough one," said Roberts. "There are loads of factors to take into consideration.

"You just deal with it. It's one of those things in rugby - the last year of your contract. Everyone goes through it, but you just get on with it.

"It is a tough decision I have to make, but one that whatever decision I make it will be the right one because it is what I want to do."

Roberts has been recalled by intertim Wales coach Rob Howley to face Argentina in Cardiff on Saturday in their opening autumn international.
