Scarlets No 8 Chris Hala'ufia has joined London Welsh on a two-week loan deal to provide injury cover for the Aviva Premiership side.

The former London Irish player joined the Scarlets during the off-season but has yet to make an appearance for Wayne Pivac’s side.

Hala'ufia will now join Welsh temporarily, the 35-year-old wanting to get some game time while the Exiles look to ease their injury woes.

"London Welsh are in a position to give him some game time. He'd requested to be loaned and it has been agreed between the three," Scarlets coach Wayne Pivac said.

London Welsh head coach Justin Burnell added on his team’s official website: “Due to our mounting injury list we’ve brought in Chris to help fill the gap on a short-term basis.”
