Newcastle have made Munster centre Danny Barnes their latest new signing ahead of next season's Premiership return.
Barnes moves to newly-promoted Falcons on a two-year contract and is the seventh new arrival at Kingston Park following the Falcons' promotion.
Rory Clegg, Andy Saull, Phil Godman, Mike Blair, Scott Lawson and Fraser McKenzie have already joined, and Barnes said: "I have been impressed with the calibre of players that have signed for the club.
"I am really excited at the prospect of joining Newcastle Falcons, a club that has serious ambitions of going all the way to the top.
"From talking to Dean Richards it is clear he has big plans, and after gaining promotion to the Aviva Premiership I am looking forward to testing myself on the big stage next season."
Director of rugby Richards said: Richards, said: "I am delighted. He is a solid acquisition as we build for the new campaign. He has a bright future ahead of him."
Barnes leaves Thomond Park having made 34 appearances since his debut in April 2010.
