Guiness Pro12: Wingers Dougie Fife, Tim Visser rejoin Edinburgh after Six Nations duty

Edinburgh head coach Alan Solomons will have Scotland wingers Dougie Fife and Tim Visser back in his line-up on Friday after the Dark Blues duo were released by national coach Vern Cotter.

Visser played in both of Scotland's opening two Six Nations defeats to France and Wales, while Fife scored the only try of the match in Paris after being thrown on as a first-half substitute.

But with the tournament taking a week off, Scotland coach Cotter has given both players permission to turn out for the Gunners as they host fourth-placed Ulster at Murrayfield in the Guinness PRO12.

Fife and Visser's inclusions are among three changes to the backs, with stand-off Tom Heathcote moving up from the bench.

In the pack, lock Ben Toolis and flanker Hamish Watson are also released from Scotland squad camp for this fixture.

Lock Ollie Atkins, flanker Hugh Blake and stand-off Jade Te Rure, who featured in last week's win, move to the bench.

"It is good to have some of the national squad back with us," Solomon said.

"They have slotted in extremely well and the team is looking forward to locking horns with one of the top teams in the competition."

Due to challenges emanating from Richie Gray's injury and Tim Swinson's draft into the Scotland squad, Edinburgh locks Fraser McKenzie and Alex Toolis have been loaned to Glasgow Warriors - the former for this weekend's match only and the latter on a short-term loan.

Edinburgh were more than happy to help the club and wish Warriors all the best with their game on Saturday against Ospreys.
