Michael Bradley has called on Edinburgh fans to turn out in force for Saturday's Heineken Cup opener against Saracens at Murrayfield.

The Scottish side were unbeaten at home during last year's competition, winning all three pool games before claiming the scalp of French heavyweights Toulouse in the quarter-finals.

"The support we received in last season's competition was exceptional and undoubtedly played a massive part in the successes we enjoyed here at Murrayfield," he said.

"The pressure, the pace, and the physicality, combined with the heightened tension and suspense are what makes this such a special tournament."

Edinburgh have endured a poor start in the RaboDirect PRO12 and enter Saturday's game on the back of three straight defeats, the last of those a 27-22 home reverse against Treviso.

Bradley says his side must keep their discipline if they are to overcome the Aviva Premiership visitors.

He said: "We face a side which, I expect, will use a strong kicking game and very a combative defence to try and keep the game in our third of the field.

"We must keep our discipline because penalties against the Saracens will be punished, however that this no different from any team at this level.

"For us, our approach or style is different. Pressure from Edinburgh Rugby comes from our ability to endure a very high tempo for long spells, across the park, and through the hands of the many ball players we have in this team."
