Winger Carlin Isles is leaving the Glasgow Warriors to concentrate on his sevens career.

The American linked up with Glasgow in February and was part of their squad which won the Melrose Sevens in April.

Isles, who has been dubbed the fastest man in rugby, will now head home to focus his attentions on getting a place in the USA team for the Olympic Games tournament in Rio in 2016.

He had been looking to develop his 15-a-side skills but was never picked by Glasgow, who ended the season in red-hot form and made it to the Rabo Direct PRO12 final.

Experience

Isles, who has a wind-assisted 100 metres personal best of 10.13 seconds, said: "I'd like to thank Glasgow Warriors for giving me the opportunity to train with them over the last few months.

"I've learnt so much from the experience and made some really good friends.

"However, I want to focus on sevens and if I work hard hopefully I can be part of the USA Sevens squad at the Olympics in 2016."

Glasgow coach Gregor Townsend added: "Carlin has come in and trained really well with us, but he has decided he would like to concentrate on Sevens and we respect that.

"It's an exciting time for the sport, with it set to debut at the Olympics in 2016. We'd like to thank Carlin for coming over and we wish him all the best for the future."
