Rhys Webb has become the eighth Wales international to sign a dual contract.

The Ospreys scrum-half has signed up to a deal funded by his region and the Welsh Rugby Football Union, joining the likes of Sam Warburton and Dan Lydiate.

Webb has four tries in his past seven internationals and starts in Italy this weekend as Wales aim to pip England and Ireland to the Six Nations title.

He said: "I am enjoying my rugby at the Ospreys and with Wales, and this allows me to build on that. Now my future is confirmed, I can focus all my attention on becoming a better rugby player."

Wales head coach Warren Gatland said: "Rhys has established himself as a proven international scrum-half and fully deserves a national dual contract.

"He has impressed at regional level for the Ospreys, and this ensures his future here, which will prove an enormous benefit to professional rugby in Wales."

More from Six Nations 2015

Jake Ball, Samson Lee, Rhodri Jones, Tyler Morgan and Hallam Amos are the other players on dual contracts, and WRFU chief Roger Lewis said: "We now have an incredible mixture of experience and youth who have committed their future to Wales and the regions."
