Wales prop Adam Jones hopes his club future with the Ospreys will be sorted out sooner rather than later.
Jones' deal was not renewed at the end of last season and his future remains in limbo because of the ongoing row between the regions and the Welsh Rugby Union which has led to no new participation agreement being signed.
The 33-year-old has been linked with a number of Premiership sides as well as Toulon, who he was previously rumoured to have signed a pre-contract with.
It has been a tough time, the most difficult year of my career, but I don't feel let down by anyone.
But despite reports his time with the Ospreys was going to come to an end, Jones says staying at the club he has grown up with remains his preferred option.
"My number one choice has always been the Ospreys," he told the South Wales Evening Post.
"They are my home region and where I have played my rugby for the past 11 years. I know the coaches and the players and nothing would please me more than to sort out a deal with them.
"It has been a tough time, the most difficult year of my career, but I don't feel let down by anyone.
"The Ospreys have been up front and said there's a contract there to be signed if the new participation agreement with the WRU is finalised.
"But I want to make clear it hasn't been me who has been stalling over a new contract at the Ospreys. If I had my way this would have all been sorted out months ago. Circumstances just haven't allowed. I just want things settled so I can play some rugby."
