South Africa fly-half Morne Steyn has been banned for two weeks pending further investigation into his sending-off for Stade Francais last weekend.
Steyn was sent off in the 12-9 defeat at the hands of Lyon that saw Stade knocked off the top of the Top 14 table.
He was shown a red card in the 31st minute after a clash with Mosese Ratuvou, when he was alleged to have kicked the Fijian while they tussled on the ground - Steyn claimed his eyes had been gouged.
Speaking to Midi Olympique, he said: "The Lyon player put his hand in my eyes.
"I was beside myself, I hate that kind of behaviour. Those are things you shouldn't do, I was angry and reacted badly. But was it worth a red card? Honestly, it's hard."
But he has now been suspended until a disciplinary hearing on January 22 - Ratuvou was also called to appear before the commission but was not banned.
Three other Top 14 players were also called before the LNR but not suspended - Remi Lamerat (Castres), Olivier Missoup (Oyonnax) and Thomas Synaeghel (La Rochelle).
