Frik Kirsten: Could make his South Africa debut in Paris on Saturday
South Africa has called up uncapped Blue Bulls tighthead prop Frik Kirsten as a replacement for the injured Frans Malherbe.
Malherbe suffered a rib cartilage injury during the Springboks' 28-0 win over Scotland on Sunday and had to be replaced late in the first half.
South Africa are already without experienced duo Jannie du Plessis and Pat Cilliers for Saturday's Test with France in Paris.
"We've been watching Frik quite closely over the last few seasons and he's really done very well," said Springboks coach Heyneke Meyer.
"He's played for the South Africa U20 team, took part in one of our training camps last year and was the next player on our standby list.
"I feel sorry for Frans as he's performed strongly in his two first Tests. He certainly has a great future ahead of him and it was good to see him take the step up to test match rugby."
South Africa have scored impressive victories over Wales and Scotland in their opening two Autumn Internationals, but they not beaten France away in 16 years.
Watch France v South Africa live on Sky Sports 3 from 7.30pm on Saturday.
