Argentina captain Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe has been ruled out of the opening match of the Rugby Championship against South Africa in Soweto on Saturday.
Toulon star Lobbe has been ruled out with a calf injury, a big blow for the Pumas ahead of the match at Soccer City stadium.
Leonardo Senatore replaces Lobbe, one of eight changes to the team beaten 27-6 by the Springboks in Cape Town at the same stage last year.
Felipe Contepomi will captain the team from midfield, while left wing Juan Imhoff, fly-half Nicolas Sanchez and scrum-half Martin Landajo all come into the backline.
Senatore and flankers Pablo Matera and Juan Manuel Leguizamon form a new-look back row in place of Lobbe, Alvaro Galindo and Julio Farias Cabello.
Matias Diaz, the highly rated young tighthead, starts in a front row, with Juan Figallo, who wore the No. 3 blue and white shirt in Cape Town, switching to loosehead to accommodate him.
