Simon Shaw has been cited for alleged dangerous play during the British and Irish Lions' 28-9 victory over South Africa in the third Test in Johannesburg.
The Wasps second-row has been summoned to attend a disciplinary hearing on Sunday morning.
Shaw must answer a charge of striking with the knee on Springboks scrum-half Fourie du Preez.
He was sin-binned for the offence in the 37th minute, but New Zealand citing officer Steve Hinds has decided the incident warrants closer scrutiny.
The England international is the second Lions player to be cited on their 10-match South Africa tour, following Scotland forward Nathan Hines who received a one-week ban for a dangerous tackle during the 13-13 draw against the Emerging Springboks on June 23.
