Where there's a Will

Saracens flanker Will Fraser talks to Sky Sports rugby union writer Tony Curtis about his hopes of touring with England.

Saracens flanker Will Fraser believes playing Sevens has helped him close in on a place on England's tour to Argentina.

Performances

It is understandable for Fraser to be concentrating on the traditional form of the game, though, given as he has emerged as one of the leading lights in the No 7 jersey. A series of stellar displays has seen him appear on the radar of England head coach Stuart Lancaster. A try-scoring debut for the Saxons was followed by a call-up to the training squad ahead of the RBS Six Nations clash with France. However Fraser, who has previously spent time honing his talents at Western Province academy and Bedford Blues, is refusing to look too far ahead. "There is some way to go yet and there is a lot of rugby still to play before then," said Fraser. "A lot will depend on who goes on tour with the Lions, too. "I'd love to be on that plane and I will be doing everything I can to get there. I will just have to train hard, get my head down and put in the performances." Fraser is likely to get a chance to further his reputation on Sunday when Premiership leaders Saracens take on second place Harlequins - and that means a possible showdown with England captain and rival openside Chris Robshaw. "This is what we play rugby for," he added. "Chris has been an outstanding player for England and Harlequins and to me he was one of the standout players at the Six Nations. It will be great to pit myself against him." The J.P Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s kicks off on 1st August at Gloucester with rounds at Franklin Gardens and Allianz Park and the Final at The Recreation Ground.
