Sale have announced the signing of New Zealand international lock Bryn Evans on a two-year contract from French club Biarritz.

Evans joined Biarritz after three successful seasons at London Irish where he made 75 appearances and scored four tries.

The 30-year-old won two caps for the All Blacks - both in 2009 - against France, and also played Super Rugby for the Blues and Hurricanes in New Zealand.

Sale rugby director Steve Diamond said: "Bryn is a great signing for us and will, I am sure, play a major part in our line-out next season.

"When I heard he was available, both Dan Braid and Michael Patterson gave him great references, and we look forward to him joining us for pre-season training."
