Saracens have signed back-row forward Michael Rhodes on a deal from the start of next season.

The 27-year-old, who has also been used as a lock, joins the Aviva Premiership side from Super Rugby outfit the Stormers.

Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall said: “We have some time ago identified Michael as a player who could make significant contribution to the squad, playing in the second row or the back row, carrying the ball.

"We are confident we can provide an environment where he will realise his full potential. We’re delighted he will be joining us next season.”

Rhodes has plenty of experience from his time in South Africa, which also includes stints with the Sharks and Lions.
