Saracens flanker Will Fraser to have back surgery and miss rest of Premiership season

Saracens forward Will Fraser will miss the rest of the season after a decision was taken to operate on his injured back.

The flanker, who has long been tipped as a future England international, will have the surgery on Tuesday in an attempt to fix what Saracens call "long-standing problems".

The Premiership club's director of rugby Mark McCall said: "It’s obviously disappointing for Will and for us, but it’s obviously in everybody’s interest to sort out these issues once and for all.

"Will is only 25, and he has plenty of great rugby in him, for club and country."

Fraser attended an England training camp in Loughborough last summer but is still waiting for his first international cap.
