Stormers back-row Don Armand has confirmed he will be leaving to take up a contract with the Exeter Chiefs in the coming season.

The 24-year-old Maritzburg College product has been a squad player for the Super Rugby club this season but started for Western Province in their 2012 Currie Cup final triumph over the Sharks.

Exeter, who have yet to confirm the signing, finished sixth in the Aviva Premiership in the 2012/13 season and have been busy during the close season having already brought in the likes of Fetu'u Vainikolo and Greg Bateman.

"It's been an amazing privilege to be a part of the Stormers family," the blindside tweeted.

"My team-mates, management and especially the fans have given me an amazing experience. Memories that will last a lifetime."
