Experienced No.9 to provide cover

The Hurricanes have agreed a short-term deal with veteran scrum-half Jamie Nutbrown. With Chris Eaton still struggling with a hamstring injury and TJ Perenara ruled out for the season, coach Mark Hammett has brought Nutbrown in from the Bay of Plenty as a precaution. Nutbrown has previously played for the Crusaders, Chiefs and the Ospreys - as well as earning representative honours for the junior All Blacks. Hammett said: "You want to give a guy more than just a day so we'll see how our boys get through, see how Chris gets through and obviously Jamie will be there if Chris doesn't pull through this week." The Hurricanes will face the table-topping Chiefs on Friday looking to snatch one of the final three play-off spots - with five teams in the mix.
