The Chiefs have confirmed the signing of former Crusaders and Blues hooker Quentin MacDonald for the 2015 Super Rugby season.

The 25-year-old, who has also had a stint at RaboDirect PRO12 side Munster, made 22 appearances for the Crusaders before playing 12 times for the Blues.

MacDonald will be joined at the Waikato-based franchise by former New Zealand U20s scrum-half Brad Weber.

Weber has previously been part of the wider training squad at the Chiefs, while he has captained Waikato in the ITM Cup.

Chiefs coach Dave Rennie told the club’s official site: "Brad has had a strong debut season and provides a genuine point of difference to our other half-backs.

"He's a top man and we're rapt he's on board for 2015.

"Tom, Straws and I have all coached Quentin at national age grade level. His athleticism, his skill set and experience will be invaluable to our squad."
