South African scrum half Sarel Pretorius has returned to the Cheetahs after just one season with the Waratahs. The 28-year-old switched to the Australian outfit for the 2012 Super League season as their marquee signing on a two-year deal to replace Luke Burgess. But the move failed to work out as Pretorius finished the season as third-choice halfback behind Grayson Hart and Brendan McKibbin. He has now confirmed that he will be staying in Bloemfontein. "Happy to say, I am staying in bloemmies for next years Super Rugby season!" said Pretorius on Twitter. The Sydney-based Waratahs now having two vacant spots in their 30-man squad following the release of scrum flanker Chris Alcock, who has joined Western Force, while three newcomers have already been confirmed - flanker Michael Hooper, speedster Michael Hodge and fullback Cam Crawford.
