Semesa Rokoduguni: Bath winger earns extended deal
Bath winger Semesa Rokoduguni has signed a new deal which ties him to the club until the end of the 2015-16 season.
The 26-year-old is coming off what turned into a breakthrough season, his first full year in the professional ranks, when he became the first serving soldier to be called into the England set-up since Josh Lewsey.
Rokoduguni played for the Saxons against the Irish Wolfhounds in January and was then part of the non-cap senior international against the Barbarians in June.
He also won the Gatorade Game Changer award for his performances in October.
Rokoduguni said: “It felt like the natural choice. I love it here at Bath. The environment is superb – we’re like a big family – and everybody wants to play their part in the next stage of the team’s development.”
Coach Mike Ford added: “Roko’s the type of player you would pay good money to watch, and I tell him as much before every match.
“It’s remarkable to think that it wasn’t so long ago he was serving with the British Army in Afghanistan.
"He’s a fantastic winger and he’s going to help us win matches this season, and I’m certain he’ll be pushing for more England recognition too.”
