Visagie to face RFU hearing

Cobus Visagie could be banned for several months after being cited for stamping.

Cobus Visagie has received the expected call from the RFU for a disciplinary hearing regarding his recent stamp.

The Saracens prop trod on Bath's Nick Walshe during the recent 12-12 stalemate, ruling the scrum half out of action for an unconfirmed period on time.

The incident prompted Bath coach John Connolly to predict that 'the weather might be rather warmer before Visagie does anything more in a Saracens shirt', and it now appears that the Australian will be proved right.

Visagie was sin-binned at the time of his indiscretion, but the independent citing officer decided that the matter required further attention.

It is now expected that the player will receive a ban of around three months, which rules him out of crucial Premiership and Heineken Cup action.
