Leicester fly-half Toby Flood has been cited following a dangerous tackle during their match at Worcester on Friday.
Flood has been accused of a tip-tackle on his Worcester counterpart Andy Goode during Leicester's 19-14 win at Sixways.
The second-half incident went unpunished on the field.
A report from the RFU's citing officer Shaun Gallagher means the player's case will be heard on Tuesday by a panel in London.
Any period of suspension would leave him in serious danger of missing Leicester's crunch Heineken Cup pool games against the Ospreys and Toulouse this month.
Flood's Leicester team-mate Matt Smith has received a written warning from the RFU after receiving a yellow card for use of an elbow on Worcester's Alex Grove in the same game.
