Back-row Ashley Johnson has boosted Wasps by inking a new contract with the Aviva Premiership club.
The 26-year-old forward, who has won three caps for South Africa, has quickly become a fans favourite since joining the club from the Cheetahs last summer.
Johnson made 25 appearances for the club this season, scoring three tries and Wasps director of rugby Dai Young believes he can become one of the leading figures at Adams Park.
He said: "Ashley has been one of the standout players in the side this year and we are delighted to have extended his contract with the club.
"He has taken our style of rugby in his stride and has become a real leader in the squad. With a number of young guys around him Ashley has been a hugely positive influence, leading by example on and off the pitch and we are all looking forward to seeing what he can do over the next few seasons."
Johnston added: "My first season has been hugely enjoyable and I have learned so much over the past year from the players and coaches at Wasps.
"When Dai talked to me about signing an extension I didn't need to think twice. I am part of a squad that is really building for the future and I am really happy to be part of what we are doing here."
