Wasps director of rugby Dai Young has toldSky Sports there are plenty of reasons for England to be positive.
The former dual-code Wales international has heralded England's opening win as well as interim head coach Stuart Lancaster and his team.
Under the guidance of Lancaster, who has replaced Martin Johnson at the helm, a new-look England toppled Scotland 13-6 at Murrayfield.
And Young, whose Wasps side have endured a difficult time in the Aviva Premiership, was impressed with what he saw.
Young toldSky Sports: "Forget the performance, a win is hugely important. I was really pleased for Stuart Lancaster and obviously his coaching team.
Spirit
"He stepped in there and that is always going to be difficult. Certainly I thought the players could see that they were really together, a real good spirit amongst them and hopefully he can enjoy it because it's a difficult job as we know.
"Scotland will probably feel that it's a game they could have won, but they didn't.
"Well done to England, great way to start and hopefully they can back it up."
Wasps fly-half Nick Robinson, who has been capped by Wales, has also praised England for their win and said the young side should look ahead with conviction.
He added: "To get a performance like that up in Scotland was really good for them and I'm sure they'll take a huge amount of confidence.
"For them to grind out a win like that I'm sure they'll take a lot of credit."
