Dropped Voyce starts for Wasps

Tom Voyce will start for Wasps as they welcome Bristol to the Causeway Stadium.

Wasps v Bristol

Guinness Premiership, Causeway Stadium, Friday November 4, KO 20.00pm

Wasps go into their home clash with Bristol boosted by the unexpected presence of Tom Voyce.

Voyce had been in the England squad for the Test match with Australia, but the speedy winger was one of the 10 to be culled as Andy Robinson shortened his list to the matchday 22.

The news will be welcomed by Wasps director of rugby Ian McGeechan, who is without key players Josh Lewsey and Mark van Gisbergen from his backline.

Ayoola Erinle and James Brooks are the duo called in to deputise, as Wasps aim to put the pressure on table-toppers Sale Sharks.

The forwards still have an incredibly formidable look about them however, and Tom Rees is handed his first start since returning from the arm injury picked up against Leicester Tigers.

Rees features in a back row that includes John Hart and Lawrence Dallaglio, who will make his 200th league appearance for the London side.

Bristol meanwhile, will turn to continuity as the key to challenging Wasps at the Causeway Stadium.

Richard Hill makes only two changes to his side for the trip to London, both of which are enforced by injury.

Powerful Samoan Brian Lima is not ready to return after his hamstring problems, and will sit out as Marko Stanojevic enters the fray on the wing.

Dan Ward-Smith is the other injury victim, and his knee problem means that Geraint Lewis will start at the back of the scrum.

Elsewhere, influential fly half Jason Strange will start after his late withdrawal a week ago, and Lee Robinson is once again on the bench.
