London Irish have handed academy contracts to rising stars Luke Peters and Jack Ramshaw.

Centre Peters has come through the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence at the club, going on to represent the Exiles in the Aviva Premiership 'A' League.

Versatile back-five forward Ramshaw, who can cover the second row and back row, has also played for the A team after coming through the AASE programme.

London Irish AASE manager Giselle Mather said: "I am delighted for both Luke and Jack. They have worked extremely hard over the last two years, made huge improvements and thoroughly deserve to be in the London Irish academy.

"I have every confidence they will excel at the next level. In a three year period London Irish have contracted seven players from the AASE to the academy which continues to prove that the AASE is an excellent pathway to professional sport.

"Personally I wish Luke and Jack every success in the next step in their rugby careers."
