Bob Casey has agreed a new two-year contract with London Irish that will keep him at the Sunbury based club until the end of the 2007-8 season.

Casey joined the club in July 2002 and has been capped five times for Ireland, while last season his performances at lock forward earned him a place in the Sky Sports dream team.

Brian Smith, London Irish Director of Rugby, said: "This is great news for the club.

"In my opinion Bob is one of the best locks in the Guinness Premiership.

"Week in, week out he puts his heart on the line and competes. He is an important part of what we are building here and we are delighted that he is staying."

Casey himself added: "I am extremely happy to have re-signed for another two years with London Irish. We are building something special at this club and I very much want to be part of it."
