Parling fit for Exiles encounter

Geoff Parling has recovered from a leg problem and will face London Irish.

Newcastle Falcons will be boosted by the return of Geoff Parling for the visit of London Irish on Friday.

Irish have been extremely impressive in the line-out this season, so the presence of Parling after injury will be a real coup for Rob Andrew's men.

The 22-year-old missed Newcastle's last outing due to an infected cut on his leg, but he is now raring to go as the Falcons bid to push away from the bottom of the Premiership.

"The table doesn't do us justice, but to be honest that's where we are, and we need to get ourselves out of there," roared the talented lock.

"We can't keep saying 'oh we played well and lost', we just need to grab it by the throat and start winning these games."

Newcastle's cause is further enhanced by the return of Colin Charvis, who is on temporary release from international obligations, and Parling is quick to acknowledge the significance of such news.

"Charv has the obvious ability on the pitch with his ball carries and general play which everyone can see, but he's a great leader behind the scenes, so having him back for the game is a massive boost for us."

And whilst victory is the main priority for the Falcons come Friday, Parling admits he is dreaming of crossing the Kingston Park whitewash.

"There's a lot going on around the game with the promotion the club has done, and the extra atmosphere will do us the power of good.

"I'm just waiting to dive in to the hot tub we have on the terraces if I score a try!"
