Mike Tindall: Is hoping to secure a new deal at Gloucester
French second division outfit Pays d'Aix have failed in their ambitious bid to sign World Cup winner Mike Tindall.
The England centre had been looking at making a move to France after he was told by then Gloucester boss Bryan Redpath he would not be offered a new contract.
Tindall met up with representatives from the ProD2 club and visited their facilities but he has now opted to remain in England.
However with Gloucester having appointed Nigel Davies as their new director of rugby, Tindall is hoping for talks to resume over him remaining at Kingsholm.
The signing of Tindall would have been a massive coup for Pays d'Aix, who finished down in 11th last season.
They do, though, have a former England international on their books with winger Phil Christophers, who previously had spells at Bristol, Leeds and Castres, making 23 appearances for them last season.
