Experienced back row Peter Buxton has agreed a new 12-month contract with Gloucester.

Buxton has been a permanent fixture in the Gloucester squad since joining from Newport 10 years ago - with the flanker making 253 appearances for the club.

And the 33-year-old is delighted to have agreed to extend his stay at Kingsholm for the 2012/13 campaign.

"I'm really happy to sign for another year. Everyone knows how much I love it here at Kingsholm and I'm still enjoying my rugby as much as ever," he said.

"Bryan's building such a good squad here, they are genuinely exciting times and I'm delighted I'll be part of it for another season."
