Karl Dickson has signed a contract extension that will keep him at Harlequins until the end of the 2016/17 season.

The 32-year-old scrum-half has made over 100 appearances for the Aviva Premiership club since joining from Bedford Blues in 2009, scoring 16 tries.

Dickson was a key player in Quins’ Challenge Cup success in 2011, the Aviva Premiership victory in 2012 and LV= Cup triumph the following year.

Karl has achieved a lot over the years with us and I know he will keep on pushing us and himself to be better.

Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea said: "Karl is one of the most competitive and best people you will come across. Together with Danny (Care), he is integral to everything we do and the way we play.

"He has achieved a lot over the years with us and I know he will keep on pushing us and himself to be better.”

Dickson, who is also a qualified referee, added: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Quins and the success we have had over the past six seasons as a squad.

"I am delighted to extend my contract for a further two seasons with the club.”
