London Welsh hooker Neil Briggs has been cited for alleged foul play during last Sunday's game with Harlequins.

Briggs was reported by independent citing officer John Byett for punching or striking Harlequins back Sam Smith during last Sunday's Aviva Premiership game at the Kassam Stadium.

The case will be heard by a three-man RFU panel under the chairmanship of Jeremy Summers at a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday night.

Harlequins director of rugby Conor O'Shea had criticised referee Llyr ApGeraint-Roberts for his performance during the game that Quins won 31-26.
