England scrum-half Danny Care has been banned from driving for 16 months and was fined £3,100 after pleading guilty to drink-driving.
Care had been stopped by police at the Winchester services on the M3 motorway in Hampshire in the early hours of New Year's Day.
A breath test showed the 25-year-old had 77mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath - the legal limit is 35mg.
Care was fined by his club for the incident, while he was omitted from England's 32-man elite playing squad of the RBS Six Nations.
The incident came just three weeks after he had been fined by police for being drunk and disorderly.
