Tom May: Among latest players released by Northampton
Former England international Tom May is one of three players to be released by Northampton following the conclusion of the Aviva Premiership season.
The 34-year-old centre, who played twice for his country, had been with the Saints for two seasons and is joined by wing Scott Armstrong and back-row Rhys Oakley in being told he can look for a new club.
"On behalf of the rest of the coaching team I'd like to thank the players who are leaving."
Former Leeds wing Armstrong, 26, moved to Franklin's Gardens in 2010, but leaves the beaten Premiership finalists after making just one appearance over the course of last season.
There are six further players leaving Franklin's Gardens who have already secured deals elsewhere; Paul Doran Jones (Harlequins), Ryan Lam (Leicester), Brian Mujati (Racing Metro), Martin Roberts (Bath), Mark Sorenson (Bristol), and Soane Tonga'uiha (Racing Metro).
Director of rugby Jim Mallinder said: "If a team is to succeed every player in the squad has to contribute.
"Everyone in the squad has done this during the season, whether playing for the first or second teams, in training or in analysis and team meetings.
"On behalf of the rest of the coaching team I'd like to thank the players who are leaving for what they've done in their time at the Saints and wish them the best for the future."
