Italy prop Martin Castrogiovanni is set to miss the rest of the RBS Six Nations after he broke his ribs in the 19-15 loss to England.
Castrogiovanni was forced off in the 33rd minute of the clash holding his ribs and clearly in pain - with subsequent tests revealing the extent of the injury.
And Italy head coach Jacques Brunel has confirmed Castrogiovanni is likely to be ruled out of the remainder of the tournament.
He said: "It will be difficult for him to recover in time for the other matches."
Italy next Six Nations match is against Ireland in Dublin on February 25 before they face Wales on March 10 and Scotland a week later.
The injury to Castrogiovanni is also a setback for Leicester as they look to push towards the Premiership play-offs.
