Rhys Webb: Doubt for Wales tour to South Africa
Ospreys scrum-half Rhys Webb is to have knee surgery and could miss Wales' summer tour of South Africa.
The 25-year-old suffered the injury during the Ospreys' 11-9 defeat of Glasgow on Friday.
The Ospreys confirmed that he has travelled to London for surgery on the injury but refused to speculate on the potential length of his absence.
Webb started two of Wales' Six Nations games and the Welsh coaching staff will be concerned ahead of their two-Test tour in June.
"Rhys had a scan on Monday which excluded any signs of ligament damage," Ospreys' medical performance manager Chris Towers said.
"However, he has gone to London for keyhole surgery to deal with a cartilage problem. Following discussions with the surgeon post-operation, we will be in a better position to discuss any potential return to play date."
