Japan coach Eddie Jones has added Shota Horie, Fumiaki Tanaka and Michael Leitch to his 35-man squad for the two-Test series with Wales and the IRB Pacific Nations Cup.
Hooker Horie and scrum-half Tanaka have both made big impressions playing Super Rugby since their moves to the Rebels and the Highlanders respectively, while Leitch has been training with the Chiefs as part of their expanded squad.
However they will now bolster a Brave Blossoms squad that won a sixth straight HSBC Asian Five Nations title recently.
"After the successful Asian Five Nations, we have now picked a squad that we believe can win the Pacific Nations Cup and beat Wales," said Jones.
"We're looking forward to having Horie, Leitch and Tanaka back in the squad after the Super Rugby prior to going into camp with his players."
Jones has also added to his coaching staff, with Fabio Ongaro and Marc Dal Maso set to provide specialist assistance.
Japan will tackle Wales in back-to-back Tests on June 8 and 15, before they start their Pacific Nations Cup challenge against Canada (June 19) and the USA (June 23).
