Luke Fitzgerald: 'Luke will now require surgery once the swelling settles down and will not return before the season ends'
Ireland wing Luke Fitzgerald has been ruled out for the rest of the season with the knee injury sustained in Saturday's 22-15 Six Nations defeat by Italy.
Fitzgerald, a first-half substitute at the Stadio Olimpico, ruptured ligaments in his left knee shortly after replacing Keith Earls.
A Leinster statement read: "Luke will now require surgery once the swelling settles down and will not return before the season ends."
Leinster hope to be able to welcome back the experienced trio Kevin McLaughlin, Isa Nacewa and Heinke van der Merwe for Saturday night's RaboDirect PRO12 clash with the Glasgow Warriors.
