Uncapped Munster centre James Downey has been called up to Ireland's two-day training squad.

Downey, who moved to Thomond Park from Northampton in the summer, gets his chance to impress after Gordon D'Arcy was sidelined by a rib injury.

Dublin-born Downey is one of a number of additions following the latest round of RaboDirect PRO12 action.

Fellow uncapped back Ian Madigan, scrum-half Paul Marshall, prop Ronan Loughney, second row Devin Toner and winger Craig Gilroy are also included by coach Declan Kidney.

Joining D'Arcy in missing the camp at Carton House will be Ronan O'Gara, Eoin Reddan, Declan Fitzpatrick, Mike McCarthy and Simon Zebo.
