Fly-half Toby Flood says England will be underdogs for next Saturday's massive Six Nations match against Wales in Cardiff.

Victory would give England a Grand Slam but they were not hugely impressive in Sunday's 18-11 win over Italy, while Wales have looked good in winning their last three matches.

"Wales will be pretty happy," said Flood. "They are in a situation now where them winning the championship isn't too far off.

"We'll be going there as underdogs, they've been playing very, very well of late.

"It's not a bad place for us to be, in terms of mentality. We need to be right on it."

Flood scored all England's points against an impressive Italian side, who were well on top in the second half at Twickenham, when they scored the only try of the match.

And the Leicester man reflected: "It's a pretty quiet dressing room, there's a fair amount of disappointment.

"We just couldn't seem to get ourselves into the game after half-time, which was frustrating. We didn't have the ascendancy that we did have in the first half.

"We were pretty comfortable just before their try. We were in a good place, feeling we were about to kick on.

"We were really tested today, in that 10 minutes after that try. We really had to be on our mettle and we managed to consolidate and make it right.

"It's disappointing not to have kicked on and not to have scored a couple of tries, because we certainly had the opportunities.

"Had we managed to pick those up, we could've been in a position where we were able to go out there, express ourselves and kick on."
