Mike Tindall's appeal hearing against his £25,000 fine has been moved away from Twickenham and will not come to a conclusion on Thursday, according to the beleaguered RFU.

Tindall was due to appear before Rugby Football Union chief executive Martyn Thomas on Thursday to plead his case against being fined for his off-field antics during the World Cup.

The RFU normally announce the result of any disciplinary case publicly once it has been completed, but in a short statement they said nothing would be known on Thursday as expected.

"The Mike Tindall hearing will take place away from Twickenham stadium and there will be no announcement today (Thursday)," said the statement.

33-year-old Tindall was dropped from the elite England squad and fined following an RFU investigation into the now infamous night out in New Zealand during the World Cup.

The Gloucester man, recently married to Queen Elizabeth II's granddaughter Zara Phillips, later had to apologise to England management having misled them over his whereabouts on that night.

The case is just the latest in a growing line of embarrassment for the RFU, who have seen Martin Johnson resign and then their review of the World Cup leaked to the press and revealing a bitter and divided England camp.

Anonymous reports from players blasted the coaching set-up and their fellow team-mates for being more concerned by money than performances at the World Cup.

Rob Andrew is also under pressure in his role in charge of the elite performance department, with many unclear as to exactly what his role is and what effect he would have on a new manager.
