New Zealand fly-half Dan Carter insists that Saturday's final Bledisloe Cup clash against Australia is far from being a dead-rubber.

The All Blacks have already secured the trans-Tasman title - as well as the World Cup and Rugby Championship crowns - during a 16-Test winning streak.

However Carter is expecting the Wallabies to come out all guns blazing in Brisbane as they look to hand captain Nathan Sharpe a winning send off in his home state - with the veteran lock set to hang up his boots after the November tour of Europe.

"It's going to be a huge challenge for us playing at Suncorp," Carter told AAP. "It's a stadium that the Wallabies are pretty successful at.

"Obviously, with Nathan Sharpe's farewell, they'll be well up for this game, so we're going to have to play extremely well to get the win we want."

Carter, though, claims the All Blacks will be motivated by one of their own legendary forwards - with Keven Mealamu set to win his 100th cap.

"If we need any more motivation, it's one of our great leaders Keven Mealamu's 100th game, so we really want to put on a good performance for him," he added.

"He's been a stalwart for this team and I would love to get 80 minutes and have a win for him."
