Emily Scarratt scored 20 points as England defeated Wales 35-3 at Twickenham Stoop to keep the pressure on France at the top of the Women's Six Nations table.

It was the Scarratt show in the first half, as she scored a pair of tries, but Natasha Brennan was the story of the second period - making a dream start to her senior England debut by scoring with her first touch of the ball.

Two penalties from Scarratt within the first 20 minutes gave the home side a 6-0 lead but Wales responded moments later with three points of their own.

Scarratt's first try came when fractured play allowed Amber Reed to dart through the Welsh defence before sending the ball through the hands of Rachael Burford and finally to Scarratt who raced down the wing before touching down under the posts and then converting.

Scarratt added her second on the half-hour before her perfectly-weight pass sent Kay Wilson in to give England a 23-3 half-time lead.

A star of England Sevens, replacement Brennan was the first to score in the second half, crossing in the corner to mark her first cap.

England had to wait until the 73rd minute for the fifth try as Margaret Alphonsi touched down before Scarratt converted to complete her 20-point haul.
