Scotland will monitor the fitness of Alasdair Dickinson after he suffered a calf injury in Saturday's 21-20 win over Italy.

The Edinburgh prop sustained the problem after coming on as a second-half substitute for Ryan Grant, but still helped the Scots pick up their first win of the Six Nations campaign, courtesy of Duncan Weir's last minute drop-goal.

Dickinson's recovery will be overseen by his club's medical staff and he will hope to remain in contention for Scotland's next match against France at Murrayfield on March 8th.

He is the only genuine injury concern for the Scots as the rest of the squad are expected to recover from minor knocks.

Scotland team doctor James Robson said: "Alasdair has a calf injury which will require further assessment in the care of his club medical team.

"Otherwise we have the habitual soft-tissue injuries you would expect from a hard-fought Test match but, at this early juncture, there do not appear to be any other injures of concern."
