Mike Phillips: Reportedly sacked by Top 14 outfit Bayonne
Wales scrum-half Mike Phillips has reportedly been sacked by his club Bayonne.
The British & Irish Lions star faced an internal disciplinary hearing after it was alleged that he attended a video analysis session while drunk.
The French club's board decided on Saturday to terminate his contract and official confirmation is expected on Monday.
Two of Phillips' team-mates, New Zealand back-row Dwayne Haare and fly-half Stephen Brett also had to answer allegations and have been fined but will remain with the Top 14 club.
A French news agency says the Bayonne's report will state: "Mike Phillips will no longer wear Bayonne's colours. Guilty of turning up drunk at a video session on Friday, October 11, in the company of his two team-mates (Dwayne Haare and Stephen Brett), the Welsh scrum-half is going to be sacked by his club.
"The player met with the management on Saturday afternoon, who gave him their decision. A letter will be sent to him on Monday."
