Wales international James Hook will be staying with Perpignan until at least 2017 after signing a new long-term deal with the French side.

The 28-year-old moved to the south of France from Ospreys in 2011 and is now in his third season at Stade Aime Giral.

The versatile Hook has been capped 70 times by Wales and was in the British and Irish Lions squad for the 2009 tour of South Africa.

However, he has slipped behind Dan Biggar and Rhys Priestland in the battle to start at fly-half for Wales.

He made his last appearance for his country when he came on as a replacement during the 30-3 victory over England in Cardiff earlier this year which secured the RBS 6 Nations title.
