Jamie Roberts is already eagerly looking forward to next season with club and country after his move to Harlequins was confirmed on Tuesday.

The Wales centre will move to the Twickenham Stoop this summer after two years in Paris with Top 14 giants Racing Metro.

The 28-year-old former Cardiff Blues back was taking a day off on Wednesday to play golf in the celebrity pro-am at Wentworth ahead of the BMW PGA Championship.

He told Sky Sports News HQ: "It was probably the toughest decision I’ve made in my career, whether or not to go to back to Cardiff or to London but I’m excited.

"I feel as though I've made the right choice at this stage of my life and I'm really looking forward to it. It's a wonderful rugby club, a very traditional rugby club, it's got great history and I'm just buzzing.

"Now that's all taken care of I can focus on the here and now and that's the Top 14 title with Racing Metro, I'm aiming for that, and the World Cup in the summer."

Looking ahead to the World Cup with Wales, Roberts added: "The squad is named early June so fingers crossed I'll be part of that and it's a very tough training regime the guys have got ahead of them.

"You only get out what you put in, in any sport really, and the guys are looking forward to a very tough summer.

"It's a very tough pool. England, Australia, Fiji, Uruguay, so we’re going to have to be at our best to get out of and that’s the challenge so everyone is really excited."
