Bath have parted company with director of rugby Gary Gold with immediate effect.
The Aviva Premiership club announced Gold's departure in a short statement that gave no detailed reason for a shock move.
Bath are currently third in the table, top of their Amlin Challenge Cup Pool and on a nine-match winning run.
The statement read: "Bath Rugby can today confirm that Gary Gold has left the club with immediate effect.
"The decision was taken following a restructure in the rugby department and with the best interests of both Gary and the Club in mind.
"No further comment will be made until it is appropriate."
Gold was appointed head coach at The Rec in May 2012 having narrowly failed to steer Newcastle to top-flight safety, becoming director of rugby in June this year.
Mike Ford - the club's former defence coach - replaced Gold as head coach in the summer, while Toby Booth and Neal Hatley are also part of the set-up.
