Highlights of the Round 4 European Champions Cup clash between Saracens and Sale.

Brad Barritt says that Saracens can build on their 28-15 win against Sale and will be a better team for their must-win games against Munster and Clermont.

Saracens got the job done against Sale to remain on course for a quarter-final spot. However they failed to get a try bonus point and, in a pool that also has Clermont Auvergne and Munster in it, that could be costly.

Sale may well be out of the running but could still have a say in who escapes Pool 1. However Saracens centre Barritt says not getting that fourth try against Sale on Saturday was not the end of the world.

“The second half was a fantastic display from Saracens,” said Barritt on Sky Sports.

“There were two brilliant tries – there will be that element of frustration not to get the four tries but I think in the greater context of this pool it won’t be as significant as it will be in others.

“There were some very positives signs from how the guys interacted on the field; the combination of off-loading and some guys running some fantastic angles which resulted in those tries

“The set-piece went brilliant today, the work that they did upfront Jamie George, Petrus du Plessis, Mako Vunipola set a fantastic platform. This is definitely one we can build on going into the next fixture.”

Destiny

Saracens final two games are Munster at home and Clermont away, and Barritt, who is out injured, says that Saracens will be ready and waiting for both of them.

“I think we are well poised. It is great to have your destiny in your own hands and that is what we have.

“We have a strong of four premiership games to build confidence and to build upon what we have done in the last two weeks and to go into rounds five and six absolutely firing.”
